Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (T's and C's) are binding on Crombie & Ross, through its Trading Division (WBAA). We have tried to write them in a way that can be easily understood. If you would like a copy, please print them from our website, or email us at or call us on 01260 270333 (Mon – Fri  9.00am – 4.00pm).

General Requirements

By posting goods to WBAA, each customer agrees to all the T's and C's.  Every customer must be at least 18 years of age in order to sell items to WBAA. Every customer must be the actual legal owner of the item/s sold or attempted to be sold to WBAA. Every customer must be acting on his or her own behalf and not as the agent or representative of another person.

At WBAA’s request, the customer will provide documentation or other proof that complies with the requirements contained in these T's & C's.

The customer must declare if the item has had any damage or restoration work.

The customer guarantees all of the following: that no items sent to us are the result of illegal activity in the UK or any other country; that any transaction initiated by the customer will not cause WBAA to be in violation of any anti-money laundering, anti-terrorism, or other applicable law of any country and not to send any hazardous material to WBAA.

Posting and Insurance

All items posted to us are at the customer's own risk until received and signed for by WBAA. You need to list the quantities of the items you are sending to us on the online form and you need to complete your details in full and sign the Customer Declaration. WBAA also reserves the right to reject delivery of any package which appears to be opened, damaged, or tampered with in any way.

Valuation and Offer

Once your item/s has been submitted via the online form, WBAA will respond via email either with an offer to buy the item/s or to decline the item/s.  The offer to buy the item/s is subject to examining the item/s once it has been received by WBAA.  Once your item/s has been received, it will be inspected by our specially trained experts to confirm the value of the offer made.

WBBA will only make an offer to buy an item/s if it has a minimum value of £25.00 or more.

Once the item/s has been received and for whatever reason does not match the description given on the online form, a lower offer may be made or the item/s will be returned within five working days at a cost of £15.  WBAA is not liable for any damage caused in this way or any resulting decrease in the value of the item/s. If we buy your item/s, this becomes irrelevant anyway.

Confirmation to buy your item/s may take up to 28 days from receiving it. We will try to make contact with you by email. If we fail to make contact initially, we will keep trying and will keep your goods in a secure place such as a safe, in the meantime. When we make you an offer, it will be valid for 48 hours - as the price of antiques (especially precious metals) change regularly, our offers cannot be extended beyond then. Once you have accepted our offer, your acceptance is legally binding on both of us and it is irrevocable.

ct. Your information will only be used if you have given us permission to do so. Any bank account or similar details you provide will be treated confidentially and will only be stored subject to high security methods and only if we have your permission in advance.

WBAA is a UK business and only accepts items from UK addresses and only pays to UK accounts.

How do I get paid?

After our offer has been accepted, we will arrange payment details with you by direct bank transfer to your account. We can pay straight into the account of your choice in the UK, with funds leaving our account within 3 working days after you agree to our offer. There is no charge for this service. We will email you to confirm the money has been transferred.

Returned Items

For returned items that have been sent back to us because they have not been collected after delivery has been attempted - contact must be received within 21 days of attempted delivery to you or we reserve the right to purchase the item/s at our original offer price, excluding our administration costs and holding insurance fee.

Return/Loss Liabilities

In the unlikely event that any of your items are lost once we have received them, WBAA will pay you the value offered via email.

When returning your original item/s, WBAA shall, in its own discretion, choose the return carrier and relevant insurance for each such return. WBAA is not liable for any item/s becoming lost or damaged in transit. If the item/s is lost or damaged WBAA will provide all relevant documentation required in order to make a claim from the carrier for the replacement or repair of the lost or damaged item/s. The customer also agrees to provide all such information as we or the return carriers' Insurance company may reasonably request in order to succesfully process the claim.

Lost Property

If items are sent to us without a completed online customer form it is unlikely we will be able to identify the sender unless the name and address has been written on the parcel. If we are not able to identify the sender then the item/s will be classed as lost property.

We will continue to hold the item/s for a period of 6 months in a secure area. Customers claiming items will be required to provide a full and detailed description before an offer is made. Once we have confirmed a successful lost property claim, we will make an offer for the item/s at our current price.  If the item/s has been held in excess of 3-months, a deduction will be made from this payment to cover our storage and administration costs.
